Chicago, IL – Sept. 11, 2011

After my new acquisition (tripod), I felt compelled to revisit the roof for another skyline shot. Today panned out to be a PERFECT day for this. The clouds were huge and monumental. Expressing power beyond description and with the beautiful city resting humbly below, this view begged to have a lens pointing its way.

I clicked off countless shots, over and over and over, changing exposure and white balance… doing my best to pull every ounce of clarity I could. I did not decide to go black and white until post. But damn am I glad that I did.

I love this roofline so much. Nothing like being isolated over a hundred feet above the ants below, enjoying the sun, the breeze and chicago staring at you from afar.
