This past weekend, I had the pleasure to shoot for a dear friend’s birthday party, hosted at Roadhouse 66 in Chicago, IL. Nothing special, just had my camera and wanted to capture the events.

Throughout the evening I got some real gems, especially in the unfortunate lighting situation the bar had to offer. I think I rocked 1600+ ISO for the first half of the party, but against my usual practice, decided to incorporate the old on-camera flash. I generally avoid flash as much as possible. Partly due to how annoying it can be for the subject and mostly due to my lack of knowledge in proper flash use. I must admit though, my use turned out better than I anticipated. Dare I say, a success. 😉

At the approval of the lady of honor, I decided to add the slideshow gift I put together for her. So many beautiful, wonderful people… I just had to show them to the world.

Going to miss them all so much, once we relocated to San Jose.
