What is SFSP?
Organized in late 2013, the San Francisco Street Photography Group is an active community of visual artists that share a common passion for street photography in the City and County of San Francisco. The group offers a platform that enables Bay Area street photographers to share their work, wisdom, and experiences documenting street life in the City, as well as a chance to meet many others in the area. This community brings together – both virtually and personally – a wide range of experience within the genre from which all members benefit.
Earlier this year, as part of the SFSP committee, we came up with a hair brained idea, to organize a juried exhibition and from this group, eXposed was born.
From over 300 photo submissions, our judges selected the 52 photos they felt best represented the lot.
These images will be showcased from December 8, 2017 through January 22, 2017 in the Large Exhibit Room of the Harvey Milk Photo Center. But for the coolest amongst you, we’ll be having our opening reception for the event on December 8th, between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. No cost, just show up and check it out.
All photos on showcase, are printed on Kodak photo archival paper with a Fuji Deep Matte finish through Bay Photo and matting was completed locally by Cheap Petes Framing. Going against most standards, we have chosen NOT to use frames or glass for this exhibit. After much discussion, we felt this would best allow the photos to “breath”… and for you to fully experience them.
No Glare! No Glare! No Glare!
Don’t miss this one… Plus, the whole StreetPX crew, a ton of SFSP photographers, media outlets and downright good people will be on hand for some shop talk.
