How much will design services cost me?
| The cost of design services always vary. The price depends on the complexity of the project as well as time invested in the design. Many companies will have a cookie cutter pricing sheet "per item." I have found this incredibly disasterous and increasingly hending to both client and designer alike. Due to this I will estimate and charge according to time invested. My fee per hour range from $35 to $75 an hour depending on the particular service. If you absolutely need a legend to get an idea of my estimated project durations, please use the following information. -- Keep in mind that durations can easily increase depending on complexity and communication | ||

For my logo, why should I use you and not one of the many "competition" sites out there?
This has to be my favorite subject. Well, my favorite to frown upon. These sites tout that they offer quality services at a nominal, albiet suspicious cost. But aside from the obvious fact that these sites are saturating and dilutingthe industry, you run a multitude of risks when putting your money up for grabs here. Many of these sites allow you a limited amount of days to work with a mass of designers -- or kids with dad's credit card and a hacked version of Photoshop. This seems helpful at first until you run into the issue of becoming a serial number and disappearing in a wave of other clients grasping for the attention of these masses. You will inevitably be given a logo in the end with little to no relation to your personality or memerable flavor for your company. Also, you will notice that a majority of the results that come from these sites are very clipart in nature, thus ensuring your logo will be directly similar to hundreds of others out there. Not to mention the possibility of gaining your shiny new logo, only to receive a cease and disist letter a few months later due to copyright infringment on a previously trademarked design. Oh the horror stories I have seen come from that situation. Needless to say, this is something I do not recommend. Your identity is extremely important, to you and to a seasoned designer. You wouldn't put yourself under the scalple of a non-licensed, unproven surgeon for a low-cost surgery would you? The same should go for your brand. |
Can you match another designers fees if I decide to use you?
Come on, this isn't WalMart. Always remember, like any service, you get what you pay for and I guarantee that once I am finished you will not be disappointed. |
When do you begin on my project?
This is completely dependant my schedule. I would be happy to start as soon as possible. But I will put extensive attention on my current clients and once I focus on your project I am sure you would prefer nothing less. My work is diligent and my turn around, effecient. |
What actually goes on during the design process?
Now this is a tough one to explain. The best idea to understand what I do on my side, please refer to some of the blog posts that are available throughout this site. I can assure you when I am working on your project, I try my best to limit how long I spend playing Warcraft. ;-) |
Are you opposed to recommending other designers?
Competition in any industry can be a touchy subject. But in the design world, where would we be if we didn't work together? If you desire, let me know what your needs are and I would be more than happy to help you contact other designers that would best suit your needs. |
What do I recieve throughout the process?
While working on a project I will send pdf proofs of design progression. I attempt to do this as often as possible. By sending multiple proofs I can make sure we consistantly remain on the same path. Also, you never know when a fork in the road will appear and that generally occurs shortly after passing the signs. |
What file types do you provide?
I will be happy to provide any file type you prefer. My general procedure involves proofs in pdf format and a final package in both pdf and layered Illustrator or Photoshop files. If you would prefer high resolution TIFF or JPEG files I will be happy to provide these upon request. |
How will I contact you during the project?
I have numerous modes of communication. If you prefer a phone call is always the best option. I am also more than happy to work with you after initial contact, through email, Skype, MSN messenger or various other options. This is completely up to you. My priority is to make this procedure easy and efficient. |
What payment methods do you accept?
Ah, the almighty dollar. As for gaining my side of the deal, I generally prefer Paypal if I am working remotely with a client. But a Money Order, Cashiers check and in very rare occasions, I would be willing to accept personal check. I must note however, that personal checks are not a method I will general allow. Think of it as if you were purchasing a product from an online store. Contact me and we can discuss this further. |
