About
After persistently practicing fine arts with paint and pencils I decided to pursue digital design. Obtaining my first copy of Adobe Photoshop nearly 10 years ago as a gift from my parents, I was instantly addicted. Art had always been a passion of mine, which I used as an outlet to tell my story and express my thoughts on the way things are and the way things are not. Without to much to choose from in the area of digital design in school, I opted to go into Computer Aided Drafting, studying mechanical and architectural drafting. This allowed me to get acquainted with the study of at least one form of digital design early on on an education level.
After this I continued my education at Shawnee College focusing in a mix of art and science programs. Throughout college I began conducting freelance work, handling everything from general letterhead and business card designs for local companies to continuing my work as a draftsman being contracted to layout the blueprints for the two homes built in Southern Illinois. After college I began work at a company called Camoclad in Southern Illinois. Through Camoclad I developed an understanding and skill for designing decals, signs and graphic kits for vehicles. After two years conducting general design labor, I moved up to director of the art department.
I eventually decided to change location and moved to Columbia, Mo where I brought started work as a Digital Pre-press designer for Brake Printing, Commercial. A print shop focused on commercial printing jobs such as general business cards, envelops, newsletters, letterheads, pocket folders brochures and the like. I was fortunate to gain a mass of knowledge in the print industry which sets me apart from a large amount of designers. Through my inside experience I can help bring to you a final design perfectly print ready from the start. A common downfall of some designers which can and usually does cause major increases in your fee due to constant redrafts of a design in order to be press ready.
Once I left Brake Printing, I found myself at Home Movie Depot in Ashland, Missouri, a video digitizing service specializing in bring the old into the new. Analog to digital media that is. I had the opportunity to work with such companies as Blockbuster Entertainment, Motionbox, Pamida and many others.
Now here I am in Chicago, IL. Ready to take on any project you need completed timely and in the highest quality available.
Throughout my time as a designer I have picked up experience in most all specialties of the design industry, Print, Web and Vinyl. I have vast knowledge of the Adobe Suite and through cD I would be proud to extend my services to you. Contact me today with any projects you and you company may need.
